Faith and Functional Medicine: Seeking God’s Design in Our Health

At Solutions Functional Medicine, we believe health is more than treating symptoms—it’s about uncovering the deeper causes of imbalance and helping people reclaim the vitality God intended for them.

When I reflect on my faith, I often see the intersection of medicine and spirituality. For example, when I take communion, I think not only of the sacrifice of Jesus but also of the wholeness of His body—perfect DNA, flawless cellular function, and optimal brain health. It reminds me that while medical science will never achieve perfection on this side of heaven, we are called to pursue wisdom and healing with the tools God has placed in our hands.

This is why Jeremiah 33:3 resonates so deeply with me: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Through science and functional medicine, I believe we get glimpses of those “unsearchable things.” My prayer is that our work helps bring life and restoration while we wait for Christ to make all things whole.

At its core, functional medicine isn’t about rejecting conventional care—it’s about going deeper. We look beneath the surface of symptoms to identify breakdowns in DNA, hormone pathways, nutrient absorption, and detoxification. These breakdowns—or what I call “life deficiencies”—often show up as fatigue, brain fog, insomnia, low libido, or joint pain.

We use therapies often missing from the traditional medical toolkit: peptide therapy, hormone therapy, acoustic wave therapy, and gut health support. Our goal is not to criticize but to expand the conversation, equipping patients to see the science and make informed decisions for their health.

Faith and medicine don’t have to be in conflict. They meet in the pursuit of wisdom, the stewardship of the body, and the hope of restoration.
